Hybrid between Passiflora x decaisneana and Passiflora caerulea, the Passiflora "Marijke" has splendid purple-lilac flowers (9-12 cm) whose scent is reminiscent of lilies. The majority of the flowers appear in late summer. This vine is a robust hybrid and easy to grow. By means of tendrils, this evergreen climber can easily reach a height of 4-5 m. It is particularly suited for cultivation in container, which must be large to ensure an abundant flowering. Before the first frost, it is advisable to take the plants to a protected place, although they can tolerate light frosts for short periods.
